Veterans recollections anchor Augusta book signing event
Paul Harless, 95, spoke at the Augusta Museum of History for a signing of In Their Own Words Augusta and Aiken Area Veterans Remember World War II. He recalled serving on USS Potomac with Roosevelt and later on USS John Rodgers in the Pacific, where a kamikaze attack was repelled. The book stems from the American Folklife Center Veterans History Project guided by USC Aiken professors and the Augusta Richmond County Historical Society.
