Younger unvaccinated patients drive COVID surge at Bon Secours St Francis
In Charleston Aug 5 the 10 room ICU unit is full with COVID-19 patients all unvaccinated. Doctors and nurses treat 69 and 84 year olds with high oxygen needs while Delta dominates, now over 92 percent of positives. one patient discharged alive was vaccinated. The unit reflects a rise in severe cases among 40 to 65 year olds. Brenda Langley, 69, fights for breath as Amanda Snipes and others work with high flow oxygen. Langley vows to get a vaccine.
