Anti Catholic pamphlets spark church town backlash in Lancaster
In Lancaster, a quilting group at St Catherine's Catholic Church found anti Catholic tracts handed with pizza from Fox's Pizza Den. Pamphlets depicted Catholics as pagans and devils, urged Bible study, and quoted anti Catholic messages. A Catholic passerby, Laura Kaleugher, was rattled and demanded an apology and refund. Local observers note South Carolina cultural tensions and evolving religious tolerance. Fox's Pizza Den manager says the pamphlets were banned and employee Jesse Gay defends his faith based outreach.
