Aiken County Receives State Grant for Body Cameras
Aiken County announced a state grant of 142,268 to fund body cameras for the Aiken County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Michael Hunt said the department sought 182,850 for about 135 units next fiscal year and will seek county matching funds so every uniformed deputy can have a camera. The measure follows a 2015 law requiring body cams for state law enforcement agencies.

Aiken County unveils new pool at recreation center
Campers at the Aiken County Recreation Center enjoyed early access as the aged pool completed and passed the health inspection. Work began in June and a ribbon cutting is planned as director Mark van der Linden calls the pool a huge addition for children and the public.
