Greenville fish deaths linked to low oxygen after silt push
State wildlife officials say a small number of fish likely died in the Reedy River when a year’s worth of silt was dumped into the stream during maintenance. The city lowered water flow by opening a dam gate, stirring sediment and reducing dissolved oxygen. Investigators will present details to the agency board. An advocate questions possible Clean Water Act violations and urges inquiries.
