Once Trusted Worker Convicted Of Theft

James Bryan Flemister Jr. 37 received a five year term in General Sessions Court for stealing 62000 from Poseys Funeral Home in North Augusta. He pleaded guilty to breach of trust and forgery covering fall 1982 to this spring. The judge cited the large amount as the reason for the stiff sentence.

Two Residents Still Missing In Aiken County

Two Aiken County residents remain missing from last week. Daniel J. Collins 21 disappeared after a Food Lion stop before a Heritage Square delivery. his Strohs Light Beer truck was found at the Augusta Municipal Building parking lot. Mary Bell Kirk 71 last seen leaving a friend's house near Wagener at 7 am July 30. Search efforts include mounted posse a helicopter and Salley Rescue Squad with over 100 square miles covered. An all points bulletin for Collins has been issued.
