Woman shot to death in Majik Market holdup in Aiken
Det. Carroll Heath of the Aiken Police identified the victim as Jane Alvarez 23 of 1308 Crosland Drive NE Aiken who was killed during an armed robbery at Majik Market York and Rutland Avenue. Police and sheriff offices and SLED pursue leads with about a dozen interviews. The killer fled with an undetermined amount of cash. coroner J L Gregory noted a single .32 caliber gunshot. The store showed no signs of a struggle and was found orderly at the scene.

Storm Floods Aiken Area Prompt Action on Drains
A late afternoon thunderstorm drenched Aiken flooding streets especially around Kalmia Plaza and downtown. City Manager Roland H.
