Hiroshima marked 76 years since the Aug. 6, 1945 atomic bombing as Mayor Kazumi Matsui urged world leaders to pursue nuclear disarmament with the same urgency shown against pandemics. Prime Minister Suga faced questions over the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and apologized for omitting parts of his speech at Peace Park.
