Extended day programs planned for Aiken County students
Aiken County Public Schools will run extended day programs at ten elementary schools through Quest Zone and The Family YMCA Prime Time, with middle school sites at Paul Knox, North Augusta, and Kennedy Middle Schools. Multiple Eclipse Events Across Aiken County In August
The Aiken area hosts several eclipse events on August 17 20. Edgefield offers noon to 3 p m activities on Courthouse Square with giveaways and a moonwalk contest. Monetta hosts a viewing at Little Peach League ballpark with gates opening at 10 a m and $15 parking. Proceeds benefit the Little Peach League. Aiken Equine Rescue opens for public eclipse viewing from 1 to 4 15 p m with free parking and free glasses. The Willcox Hotel invites guests to enjoy cocktails and moon pie as well as complimentary eclipse glasses for guests or while supplies last. Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site at Beech Island offers Celestial Observation House Tours at 11 a m 1 p m and 3 p m Aug 17 20 with admission 750 for adults and 5 for seniors and children ages 6 to 16.
