Indictments allege tax evasion by former lawmaker Limehouse

Former credit union president pleads guilty to fraud

Paul D. Allen 62 of Summerville pleaded guilty in federal court to bank fraud. As president and CFO of the Charleston Naval Shipyard Credit Union between 1985 and 1988 he used funds from publicity and promotion accounts to pay tuition and school fees for his son-in-law at the Medical University of South Carolina. He faces up to a $1 million fine and 30 years in prison.

Two Die In Myrtle Beach High Speed Crash

Police said a Ford Mustang, driven by 23 year old William B. MacGuire IV, traveled more than 100 mph on Kings Highway before colliding with Ivey Jefferson Cox, 40, at 65th Avenue North. Both men died of internal injuries after being transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
