Commander's Son Cocaine Charge Dropped in 1986 Report
The State reports that cocaine possession with intent to distribute charges against Andrew David Lanier, son of former Highway Patrol commander J H Lanier, were dropped in 1986 by Richland County officials. Investigator Ted Nimmons said a July 1986 arrest occurred, with later word that the case was dropped to aid his Marine Corps entry.
