The ACTS ministry began in the mid 1980s when Pat Bisschop proposed a church backed program to assist those in need. The rededication for ACTS occurred on its 25th anniversary with Rev. Born in Pittsburgh and relocating via Jacksonville and Newport News, she is active at St. John’s United Methodist Church and is married with two children and three grandchildren. The ACTS board purchased the facility in 1995 and implemented new policies over the years. The agency reports a high volume of new clients amid a tough economy.

The National Nuclear Security Administration seeks to consolidate Savannah River Site tritium facilities under the Tritium Responsive Infrastructure Modification program. The effort will merge work from three 1950s control rooms into two newer on-site facilities, deploy new tech, demolish old buildings, and shift funds to other budgeted work as part of turning a Cold War complex into a 21st century nuclear security enterprise.
