Aiken Public Safety investigated an armed robbery at a storefront near Wachovia Bank. A dark skinned man 5 6 to 5 8 tall, stocky, wearing a checkered shirt over a white tank top and dark shorts, reportedly fled with a large amount of twenty dollar bills after telling employees to wait 15 minutes before calling police. Detectives questioned nearby businesses as they searched the area. Police encouraged anyone with information to contact 642 7740 or Crime Stoppers at 1 866 88 CRIME for a possible reward.
