National Aquarium Overhaul Adds Coral Reef Centerpiece
Baltimore's National Aquarium revamped a dull tank into a 260 000 gallon ecosystem housing 65 species. The $12.5 million project includes 1 000 animals 3 000 hand sculpted corals and 20 Australian blacktip reef sharks. Calypso the 555 pound three legged green sea turtle remains a focal point. Sharks were placed carefully over two days and trained to accept varied seafood from keepers.
