DWPF Fills First Canister milestone at SRS
The Savannah River Site reports filling its first high level radioactive waste canister at DWPF marking a milestone. Waste stored in 51 underground tanks totals 35 million gallons with 25 years planned to immobilize. Canisters will be moved to Glass Waste Storage for interim vault storage.

The estate of Brittany Smalls eight sues driver Vincent Drew Bussiere and T F Anderson and Sons Inc seeking actual and punitive damages in Aiken County Common Pleas Court. The filing names Bonella L Black Smalls and Donald S Smalls as personal representatives. Brittany died after being struck on Beech Island Avenue while dashing toward a school bus. The Department of Transportation found no speed evidence.
