Officers Cleared In July Shouting Case After Manhunt

Four law enforcement officers cleared of any wrongdoing in the fatal shooting of armed robbery suspect Tommy Joel Lewis during a March manhunt. The officers include William Griffin Douglas R Hickson Michael Hunt and Arthur L Myers. The suspect was found in woods off S C 19 after a high speed chase.

Libertarians Weigh Protest Over Aiken County Council Win

Aiken Libertarian Party chair Tom King says the party is examining irregularities in the county council race between LaVana McKenzie and Doug Greene. McKenzie won 628 to 623 amid questions about vote tallies denied voters challenged ballots and limited access to election central. King may file a protest by noon Monday. hearings follow if filed. He also cites McKenzie votes on a $15 road fee and county zoning.
