County to hold listening sessions in Aiken County today

The Aiken County Community Relations Council conducts public listening sessions across Wagener North Augusta Aiken and USC Aiken to gather input on county services and future needs. Data from these meetings will be compiled for a May report to County Council and may prompt further action.

SCDOT honors fallen workers at memorial service

SCDOT paid tribute to workers killed on the job with a Friday memorial at the headquarters in Columbia. Anthony Redmond and Robert Clark of Aiken County were killed in a March 13 collision in Aiken County, while John Branham of York County died in September 2016. The service reflected on 73 DOT workers lost and noted pending legislation increasing penalties for reckless driving causing injury or death to a DOT worker.
