Feds seek break up of Microsoft into two rival firms
The government asks a federal court to divide Microsoft into two companies one for Windows and the other for applications such as word processing and spreadsheets. Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics in Aiken County
Law enforcement officers from Aiken County Sheriff Office and North Augusta Public Safety joined the Special Olympics Torch Run. About 30 officers ran walked and biked from North Augusta to Aiken along Highway 1 to raise funds for the Aiken County Special Olympics aiming for $10 000 with proceeds from sponsors shirts and pledges supporting year round sports and Olympic style competition. Lt Tim Pearson NACPS noted participation was voluntary and three North Augusta officers joined the race.

DOE opens 250 plus contracting chances for small firms
Secretary Bill Richardson unveiled more than 250 direct and sub contracts at the Energy Department Small Business Conference in Denver.
