An Aiken man aged 22 pleaded guilty to reckless homicide for a 2007 Banks Mill Road crash that killed 19 year old passenger David Allen. He faced up to six years under the Youthful Offender Act after the guilty plea to reckless homicide.
Members of the All-Aboard committee viewed new display replicas at the Aiken Railroad Depot as panels and diorama models are prepared for formal installation over the next five weeks. The exhibit highlights life along the 8.C. Canal and Railroad Co. route through Hamburg, Aiken, Blackville, Denmark, Branchville, St. George, Summerville and Charleston. A grand opening and parade are planned for September to coincide with Celebrate Aiken and the city’s 175th anniversary.
