The 21 year old rider on Galant and riding for owner McLain Ward won the $25,000 Aiken Spring Classic Grand Prix. Karolyi and Galant rode double clear in 41.799 seconds in the jump-off to finish ahead of Hardin Towell on Rockefeller who timed 43.924 seconds. Rockefeller had won Sundowner of Aiken Mini Prix the previous Sunday.
