Slayings in Pike County Kill Eight of Rhoden Family

Coroner reports most victims were shot three to nine times and some bruised in a brutal Pike County mass killing that left eight Rhoden family members dead. Police say the motive is unclear as investigators follow more than 300 tips with 79 evidence items sent for DNA and fingerprint analysis.

Georgia approves state funds for pregnancy resource centers

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signed legislation allowing state money to flow to pregnancy resource centers that offer medical and other support to pregnant women while discouraging abortion. The measure, backed by Sen. Renee Unterman, aligns Georgia with at least 10 states funding anti abortion efforts per the Guttmacher Institute.
