Truck Wreck Closes S C 302 After Chemical Leak
A truck carrying muriatic acid caustic soda and carbonax crashed on S C 302 near Aiken. No injuries were reported as authorities contained a hydrogen peroxide leak and towed the vehicle away. The driver, 19 year old Jeffrey E. Young, faces investigation and possible charges.

A large part of western Aiken County lost power after a tree fell on lines on Richland Avenue near Burger King. Power was out 45 minutes to two hours, restored by 3 a.m. No injuries reported. Tornado sighting on Red Branch Road described with roof and tree damage. no injuries. National Weather Service issued then canceled a tornado watch as conditions eased.
