Ballet Gala and Patrons Dinner Highlight Aiken Weekend
Ballet lovers enjoyed the Aiken Civic Ballet spring performances over Friday through Sunday with diverse dances and vivid costumes. A Saturday Patrons Reception at Barbie and Paul Rothfuss featured champagne, a beef bourguignon buffet, and desserts prepared by local volunteers. Notables attended including Carl Crosby and many An interest charged guests praised the show as the best yet. Junior Woman's Club hosted an elegant Rye Patch banquet with a Governor's School ensemble providing music and new officers installed. Nick Brink celebrated his 70th birthday at a Gem Lakes home with family visiting from Roswell and Baskin Ridge.

The Coalition to Assist Abused Persons CAAP hosts its first annual Membership Drive and Barbecue at the Owens Corning Club house from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are 5 with four membership levels Friend 5 Individual 10 Sponsor 25 and Patron 100. Masonic Shrine Officials Installed In Aiken April 9
The Messiah Shrine No 3 in Aiken held an installation of officers on April 9. Participants in a preceding Bible ceremony included Mae Dean Bodie Michael Anderson and Lisa Tuberville. Installing officers and new officers for 1983 84 featured numerous named members and honorary officers. The Pine Needle Garden Club met in April at Gail McLain’s home with Beth Newburn presiding and announced three district awards. a field trip followed to the McIntosh Wildflower Gardens.
