Myrtle Beach wildfire blamed on rekindled yard blaze
South Carolina officials said a yard fire thought out rekindled days later near Myrtle Beach, fueling a wildfire that has scorched more than 19 000 acres and destroyed 70 homes. Forester Darryl Jones cited smoldering underground embers and questioned which agency responded. Early Friday the fire was about 50 percent contained with potential weather changes threatening more hotspots.
