Aiken County homeowners could save about $2 on a $50,000 home as the county and school district millage rates shift. The school board anticipates a roughly one mill drop next year, while local effort rules may require a 2 mill decrease after inflation. Adjustments to debt service are expected, lowering a $50,000 assessed home tax by about two dollars.
The government proposes adding AIDS to the list of dangerous contagious diseases that can bar entry to the United States for immigrants refugees and even tourists and students.
