Earth Day fun and community aid in Aiken
The Aiken Master Gardeners demonstrated compost tea and gave away seedlings while booths from the Aiken Garden Club Council and the Soil and Water Conservation District taught visitors about the monarch life cycle and water cycles. The Bluebird Society sold houses, Hitchcock Woods Foundation displayed box turtles, and the event drew about 2,000 attendees. Aiken resident Siva Aiken praised the community help when a stroller got stuck in Sand River.
