18 Year Old Vote Still Has a Chance
In Columbia AP report Senator John Drummond of Greenwood County says there is a chance to grant 18 year olds the vote while Senator Hyman Rubin favors a House bill that keeps the voting age at 21 but loosens residency. Senator Nick Zeigler supports younger voting rights while Senator Marion Gressette opposes the change. A Senate resolution to lower the voting age remains alive as a House bill would only cut residency from one year to six months and time is running out before adjournment.
