Health Day Contest For Aiken County 4-H Club Members

On May 1 at Bank of Western Carolina a health day rally and contest will be held for 4-H Club members of Aiken County. Contestants will be weighed measured and examined by physicians dentists and nurses from Aiken. Top scorer advances to the State Health Contest and earns a trip to Winthrop College in late June.

Bank of Western Carolina Directors Hold Quarterly Meeting

With one director present, the Bank of Western Carolina board met Tuesday at the Aiken Hotel. The bank’s condition was reported excellent and a dinner for directors followed. Cadet Herbert Gyles Jr returned home from Porter for the weekend.

Legionnaires to Hold Spring Rally in Aiken

A spring rally for all American Legion members in the district will be held at the Aiken Hotel next Monday night April 26. John G. Galbraith and Miller Foster will attend and deliver the principal address. Delegates from Aiken Edgefield Saluda Allendale Barnwell Bamberg and Hampton will attend the banquet meeting called by A A Ward. Henry Johnson announces the birth of son Henry Jr at University Hospital Augusta on April 16.
