Premature Chimp Lilly Survives at Tampa Hospital

In a joint effort, pediatric specialists from Tampa General Hospital and Busch Gardens veterinarian teams cared for Lilly the premature newborn chimp. Led by Dr. Lance Wyble, the team included nurses, a respiratory therapist, and a blood bank doctor to assist the 2-pound infant. Lilly has left intensive care and is alert, feeding by herself though still aided by a stomach tube.

Publicity Campaign For E911 Launch In Three Cities

North Augusta Aiken and Aiken County announce a publicity drive for the new Enhanced 911 system. A kickoff ceremony on Monday May 2 at 9 11 a.m. at the Sheriff's Center will feature all 10 county mayors the Public Safety Director and the Sheriff with a ribbon cutting and program on 911. The effort includes street banners decals on vehicles TV radio spots and donated billboards with ongoing updates from Bell South and county officials. Dispatchers are trained and the system should be fully operational countywide within 12 18 months.
