A schedule of community events includes USC Aiken planetarium talk by Dr. Gary Senn after a noon luncheon at Ruth Patrick Center, Garden Makers at Daylily Depot Gardens, and a carpool from 710 Laurel Drive Aiken. Also planned are library story times, Aiken Spring Classic Horse Shows benefiting Land Trust and SPCA, Dress for Stress luncheon and fashion show at Houndslake, Youth Leadership breakfast at Newberry Hall, airport commission subcommittee meeting, First Steps Healthcare Committee in Southside Pediatrics, and Broken Ink poetry reading with art display at the Quad on April 21.

The Aiken County Democratic Party meets at 7 pm at the Council Building with NAACP leaders as speakers. USC Aiken hosts a 2004 Music Scholarship Recital at 7 pm with $15 tickets. Community groups including Cancer Society, PMI Savannah River, and local libraries host talks, dinners, and a colon cancer luncheon on April 22.

Snider's Grocery Historic Store Painting Auction
Beech Island Historical Society raises funds to recreate Snider's Grocery on Old Jackson Highway. Artist Sharon Taylor Padgett donated an acrylic painting titled Snider's Grocery, framed by Southside Gallery, with raffle tickets at three for $5. Drawing November 16 at the society meeting. Displayed at Beech Island Heritage Day May 22 Granville Plantation.
