Judge refuses to alter SRS retirement pay ruling
Federal Judge Cameron Currie denied a bid to double retirement pay for George Benton a Westinghouse Savannah River Co. retiree. She ruled Benton may return to work but cannot merge WECO and WSRC plans or grant higher level benefits. The case involves about 30 workers who moved from Hampton WECO to the Savannah River Plant in the late 1960s.

University honors recognize seniors and faculty at convocation
Two USCA seniors Branislav Kovalcik and Cynthia Boston led academic honors at the annual convocation. Hook A Kid On Golf program fosters youth access in Aiken
In Aiken a fund to honor Frank R. Lock Jr. spurred Joe Spencer to chair a committee that launched Hook A Kid On Golf. The program, supported by the USGA with a $2 000 matching grant, offers 8 to 13 year olds equipment instruction and clinics from June to July with staged levels from tee to green. Participants will learn chipping putting and golf etiquette and may advance to Green Level training in July.
