School districts seek more hiring leeway for retirees
Rep. Bill Clyburn backs a House plan to allow districts to hire retired certified teachers for critical needs or unsatisfactory schools without triggering retirement benefits. Aiken County schools and Dr. Linda Eldridge welcome part time, flexible retiree workers, hoping to fill openings with well qualified former educators.
