Deputy's Home Robbed While Patrol Car Sat Outside

Mike Jenkins, a ten year deputy with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Department, found his home broken into after leaving to take his wife to work. Thieves stole about 3298 dollars in camera and stereo gear from 9:30 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. The items were not engraved and W. investigation continues with no arrests.

Michael Jackson Hospitalized for Scalp Surgery

Singer Michael Jackson, 25, was admitted to Brotman Memorial Hospital in Culver City for a bloodless scalp reconstruction using a carbon dioxide laser. Dr Stephen Hoefflin described a 90 minute operation to remove scarred scalp and replace it with grafts and said he would stay in hospital till Thursday as fans flooded the hospital switchboard with messages.

Fair skies and cool temps continue into tonight

Tonight will see mostly fair conditions with a low near 40 and west winds around 5 mph. Tomorrow brings mostly sunny skies with a high in the low 70s. Easter Sunday features partly cloudy skies with a few showers, while Friday and Saturday stay mostly sunny with 40s to 50s lows and 70s highs.

Crenshaw Visits Aiken Course After Masters Win

1984 Masters champion Ben Crenshaw toured Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken after first round action in Augusta. Pro Tom Moore said Crenshaw loved the historic course and would have played Sunday if he hadn’t won the Masters. Aiken County Council wrestled with Edgefield Edgefield Water District lines amid North Augusta plans to place a 500 000 gallon tank in Edgefield District.
