Local impact seen from Supreme Court ruling on lethal injection
The U S Supreme Court decision upholding lethal injections could affect executions including David Mark Hill of South Carolina who asked the court to impose death. Hill, 47, visited a North Augusta social services office in September and fights Kentucky style three drug procedures. If granted, a death warrant could be signed and Hill may be executed within about a month. Opponents say challenges to lethal injections will persist amid documented drug administration problems.
