Frank McGee of NBC News died in New York at age 52 after four years with bone marrow cancer. The immediate cause was pneumonia. he had suffered severe pain during his final months of broadcasting. He last appeared on Today last Thursday before entering Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. McGee was known for calm crisis reporting during instant specials and breaking news.
