Fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris during renovations
A major blaze engulfed the upper Notre Dame in Paris as renovation work continued. Firefighters halted spread to the northern belfry and officials ruled the incident an accident linked to the project. Fire damaged two thirds of the roof while crowds watched from bridges around the island.

Canyon at SRS Poses Challenge says DOE official
