Wagener Man Gets 23 Years In 2013 Killing
Ricardo Levon Williams, 32, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and kidnapping in the 2013 shooting death of Kerry Eck, 25, in a case tied to a drug deal gone bad. Williams received a 23 year prison sentence from Circuit Court Judge Donald Hocker. Eck and a friend traveled from Lexington to Wagener on September 12, 2013 to buy Molly. The dealer was Williams, who was the on again off again boyfriend of Eck's friend. A verbal and physical confrontation led to the fatal shooting.

Freeze damages early peach crop in Aiken and Edgefield counties
A late March freeze devastated the earliest ripening peach varieties in Aiken and Edgefield counties, delaying the season until July. JW Yonce & Sons, with 4000 acres across three counties, says 40 to 45 percent of the crop was affected, with May and June fruit likely scarce and costly. Additional cold expected could threaten remaining trees, as officials monitor 33 degree temperatures.
