Georgianna Mae Brown age 115 funeral planned in Eden Gardens Aiken friends and family remember her love of literature gardening and dogs. She was born June 28 1908 in Brooklyn NY and raised her family in Western Springs IL. She leaves two daughters Nora Brown Kwait and Georgianna Brown Gimbel two grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A celebration of Mae s life will be held April 24 at 2 p.m. at Eden Gardens Aiken. Donations may be made to First Congregational Church Western Springs or First Presbyterian Church Aiken.

Danielle Bowen of Pelzer received a 20 year prison term after pleading guilty to homicide by child abuse in the January 2008 death of 6 month old Hailey Marie Wilson. Prosecutors detailed stomp to the child and choking as part of the incident. Bowen had initially claimed an accidental stepping incident.
