Inmate Recaptured as Others Still At Large in Columbia
One of three inmates who escaped from the South Carolina Central Correctional Institution recreation field Sunday has been captured in Columbia. Roy Gary Lindsey 21, James Ray Lewis 25, and William M. Lozada 23 escaped by cutting a fence with pliers. Lozada was recaptured about 7 p.m. near Gervais and Huger Streets. A statewide alert remains for Lewis and Lindsey, natives of Greenville County, believed wearing denim work clothes.
