Prices Down Once Again

Wholesale prices fell 0.1 percent in March and 4.1 percent for the first quarter driven by cheaper oil. Energy prices dropped 3.2 percent in March with a 34.4 percent annual rate drop for the quarter, while food prices rose 0.5 percent. Gasoline slid 6 percent and heating oil 7.6 percent. natural gas rose 2.5 percent.

Cotton Dust Rule Change Less Costly

OSHA plans major cotton dust standard changes to save textile workers costs without harming health. The proposal keeps maximum dust at current levels but exempts mills with dust under half the limit and segments where dust is not a problem such as knitting. Four More Charged In Horse Creek Drug Network

Twenty seven arrests linked to Horse Creek Valley drug distribution network include a Graniteville couple Ronald Keith Williams and Beverly Boyd Williams charged with cocaine possession with intent to sell and marijuana. Two Gloverville residents Jimmy Arnold Tanner and Michael Wells charged with marijuana possession. Total 32 drug offense charges filed. 14 warrants for marijuana sales, nine for possession with intent to sell, five for simple possession, two for possession of marijuana more than first offense, two for possession of cocaine with intent to sell.
