Aiken Man Jailed After Knife Attack on Son
Tyrone Lee Bacon, 58, of Silver Bluff Road, jailed on second degree assault and battery after a midnight kitchen knife attack on his 33-year-old son during a heated argument. Officers found the son with a hand laceration. Bacon claimed no knife was in his possession. His wife described a heated confrontation after drinking. Bacon allegedly grabbed a knife and pursued his son, with the victim and a friend using a chair to subdue him. Bacon remained in the Aiken County detention center Monday afternoon.

Two drive by shootings report in two days at same home
The Aiken Department of Public Safety investigates two drive by shootings at the same residence on Wyman Street within 48 hours. In the Sunday incident a white Lincoln fled after shots struck a bedroom window and seven rifle shell casings were found outside. A prior Friday shooting left two exterior holes but did not penetrate indoors as witnesses corroborated the homeowner’s account.

Elderly man assaulted and robbed near Pinecrest Avenue
A 71-year-old man was assaulted at gunpoint and robbed after giving two men a ride to a gas station around 2:30 p.m. near Pinecrest Avenue. The suspects fled. the victim sought help at Aiken Public Safety, with one armed man described as about 5-foot-10, square face, dreadlocks and tattoos, and the other as 5-foot-10 with a slender face and goatee.

Man stabbed by girlfriend during 3:50 a.m. fight
An Aiken man told police his girlfriend stabbed him in the arm and chest with a knife during an argument at Summers Avenue. Officers found him in a Burger King parking lot with a deep arm wound and a chest puncture. He was intoxicated. suspect fled to her parents' home on Aldrich Street. EMS transported him to a hospital.
