Aiken County sheriff's office reports 59 year old John Davis of Gadsden died Tuesday morning when his vehicle struck a tree on Interstate 20 near mile marker 26 in Aiken County.

John A. Davis age 59 of Gadsden was killed when his 2006 Honda Ridgeline ran off the left side of I-20 near mile marker 26 and struck a tree. Davis died from blunt force injuries while wearing a seatbelt. South Carolina Highway Patrol investigates. toxicology pending.

New Principals Named for J.D. Lever Elementary and Schofield Middle
Aiken County School Board named Michael Truitt as principal of J.D. Lever Elementary for the 2017 18 year and Denise McCray as principal of Schofield Middle.
