Checkpoints Aim to Keep Drivers Alert in Aiken
Aiken Public Safety officers say frequent checkpoints near Banks Mill Road and Gatewood subdivision promote safer driving, especially with prom season approaching. An arrest occurred within the first hour on Friday as a suspect with an outstanding warrant was booked. Officers from the Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic team joined patrols with drug dogs, stressing public safety over inconvenience.
