Salley shooting leaves Augusta man dead and Salley man wounded
A fatal late night shooting in Salley prompted the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office to seek two suspects who fled in a light blue Honda Accord with South Carolina plates. Victim Tony Ledell Rainey, 26, of Augusta, was killed, while Christopher M. Corbitt, 25, of Salley, was wounded and hospitalized in stable condition. Authorities described two black male suspects, 24 and 25, about 5'11" to 6'0" and 140 to 180 pounds, who argued with occupants before firing multiple shots. Tips can be called into the sheriff’s office or Crime Stoppers for a cash reward.
