Incentives Proposed for Energy Star Homes and Clean Power
Proposals include an AS/DA relief on manufactured homes meeting Energy Star standards and a state tax credit equal to 20 percent of federal solar and hydrogen power installations. A sales tax exemption would apply to machinery and tools used to make electricity from solar, wind, tides, geothermal and biomass. A two time sales tax break during October and April favors Energy Star home upgrades such as dishwashers, washing machines, air conditioners, bulbs, and windows or doors.
