Mother's Milk Keeps Little Girl Alive Four Years
Oklahoma City AP reports Phyllis Smith coordinates shipments of human milk from 47 states and 2,500 donors monthly to sustain her four year old daughter Lacie who cannot eat or drink formula. Lacie consumes about three gallons daily while donors provide 1.5 to 7.5 ounces each. The family plans a Tennessee birthday trip with a Memphis celebration and a donor gathering, as federal support covers part of the costs.
