Inner core hotter than the sun claims geophysics study

Scientists using diamonds and laser pressure simulate Earth's inner core to estimate iron melting and core temperature around 12 420 degrees Fahrenheit far above prior estimates. The work by UC Berkeley and Caltech places the inner core hotter than the surface sun at about 10 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cook defies Masters greens for first round lead

Wholesale prices rise 0.4 percent in March driven by food costs

Wholesale prices increased 0.4 percent in March led by a 0.5 percent rise in food items including a 21 percent jump in fresh vegetables and 1.1 percent rise in pork. Coffee fell 2.3 percent while energy costs eased. The Producer Price Index stood at 29.23 with broader inflation trending at 5.5 percent annualized.
