Trump Dominates S C Primary but Delegates Eye Contested Path
South Carolina voters gave Donald Trump a decisive win in the February GOP primary but party delegates may not nominate him on the first ballot. With 50 delegates winner take all and a 1,237 delegate threshold, rivals and establishment leaders press for potential second and third ballot support at the Cleveland convention. Delegates begin selection this weekend across seven district conventions leading to a May 7 state GOP gathering, with 21 delegates chosen then and the rest at the May convention.
