Health study tracks long term effects after Graniteville chlorine spill
Researchers led by Dr. Erik Svendsen at the University of South Carolina will study about 600 former Avondale Mills workers to assess long term lung aging and health recovery after the Graniteville train wreck chlorine spill. Participants receive clinical care worth 1500 to 2000 dollars over five years as data from 1980 to 2006 is compared to current screenings.
