Tune Into Kids And Family Initiative Aims For Prime Time
InterMedia and 75 cable companies launch a weeklong Tune Into Kids and Family program. From 7 to 11 p.m. daily, family oriented shows air to promote safe content with a dedicated on screen logo. Kevin Barrett notes the effort helps parents identify quality programming while InterMedia distributes a Kids and Family Entertainment Guide across South Carolina North Carolina Georgia Tennessee and Maryland networks. The industry plans to spend over 100 million on the initiative.

Former commander to speak at SCV meeting in Warrenville
Former Commander Bill Bushall will address Brigadier General Barnard E. Bee Camp 1575 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans at Bobby's Bar-B-Q on Jefferson Davis Highway at 6 pm Thursday. He will discuss cemeteries with Confederate soldiers, the Guardian program, and obtaining Veterans Affairs markers.

Burglary Reports From Local Block April 1997
Police blotter records three burglaries in April. On Richland Avenue a rear window was broken to steal a $100 radio with $100 damage. At St Gerard's on Edrie Avenue a door was forced, $45 damage, a microwave worth $50 stolen, and files disturbed. North Aiken Elementary on Rutland Drive saw a back window broken and a color television stolen.
